| | Plaza Elementary School District is a small single school district situated on almost 10 acres in the Sacramento Valley, 100 miles North of Sacramento and 7 miles East of Orland California, in Glenn County. Plaza School is the oldest school in Glenn County and was established around 1865. It was originally named Placer school. However, soon after it was established a large group of settlers from Missouri found their way to the area and began to pronounce the name of the school in their mid-western accent, and the school has been pronounced Plaza ever since. Plaza is a K-8 district that serves 137 students. The kindergarten, first, and second grades are single grade level classrooms with combination classes in third-fourth, fifth-sixth, and seventh-eighth. The primary industry in our area is agriculture, agribusiness and business. It is the vision of Plaza Elementary School that the united efforts of students, parents, staff and community will develop students who - · value themselves and others
