Plaza School District is a small, rural, K-8 direct service school located in Glenn County, outside the city limits of Orland. The community is supported mainly by agriculture. Plaza is a single school district. Six full time teachers and a part time superintendent/principal staff the school. Plaza also has a part time music teacher.
School enrollment averages 140 students. Class size averages 17 to 1 in grades K-4 and 30 to 1 in grades 5-8. Kindergarten has a two hour aide and grades 1-2 have a one hour aide. Half-day aides work in the 3/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th classrooms.
Parents at Plaza School play very important roles through their active participation and involvement in School Site Council, Community Club, and various annual events. Parents volunteer their services in and out of the classroom. | |
